Our Medical Director, Dr. Robert Wilson, II, is the founder of Piedmont Interventional Pain Care. For ten years, he has proudly served patients in Salisbury and greater Rowan County region. Dr. Wilson is board certified in both anesthesiology and pain medicine by the American Board of Anesthesiology. Dr. Wilson completed his residency in anesthesiology and fellowship in pain medicine at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

He is trained in the latest pain management techniques and therapies and was the first in the Southeastern United States to implant a spinal cord stimulation system with a three lead array.

Dr. Wilson is an avid speaker providing information to the public about the latest pain treatments. He also travels across the United States speaking to medical professionals and the public.

Dr. Wilson began his medical career as a Critical Care Nurse and then worked several years as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist. At the age of 34, he started medical school at the University of Oklahoma and nine years later, started his practice in Salisbury, North Carolina.

Dr. Wilson has been married for 35 years and has two grown children. Dr. Wilson, his wife and daughter are currently training for the Kiawah Island Marathon to be held December 10, 2011.

Kris Watson brings nine years of orthopedic experience to Piedmont Interventional Pain Care. His expertise includes joint pain, orthopedic injuries and sports medicine. Kris prefers to take a non-surgical approach to orthopedic pain when possible. He provides evaluation, joint injections and other treatment options for patients with joint pain involving the shoulders, knees, elbows and hands.

Kris’ philosophy to patient care is that there is no one solution to every condition, so he gets to know his patients as individuals, listening to their particular situation and needs.

Having earned both a bachelor of arts in biology from UNC-Chapel Hill, Chapel Hill, North Carolina and bachelor of health science from Methodist University, Fayetteville, North Carolina, Kris is certified by the American Academy of Physicians Assistants.

When he isn't working, Kris enjoys spending time with his wife and two children.
